Has anybody had a problem with this?
I have had this pain in the butt for a couple of months now. Also pain in the hamstring and even a tight calf. All on the one side. I can run but its now at a stage where its holding me back. Is physio any use for this, stretching or rest???

+1 on that. I had the same problem 18 months ago - put me out for 6 weeks and knocked me out of the Dublin marathon. A couple of physio sessions sorted me out, and they showed me some very good stretches that kept it loose after that.

+1 - specific stretches sorted me out - via a good physio

    Thanks
So is stretching the way, more so than physio..Not overly happy with a wishy washy physio I have used in the past...The muscle seems really tight and stiff to stretch

Stretching for this is more specific and as a result need the advice of a physio. I am sure someone here would be able to recommend a good one if you not happy with your previous

Hope you don't mind me butting :D in! I had this in the lead up to DCM and afterwards. Get yourself to a good physio, he/she will sort you out. Take their advice, and follow it (if they say rest, rest. Don't rest of one day and then do a 20 miler :o). It'll take a bit of time, but physio work, stretching and hot baths will help.

    Best of luck.

There's a lot of that out there. I love reading things like that given the superiority complex a lot of physios have over other professions that deal in sports injuries/massage.
