Asking price of £100,000? Even being optimistic I couldn't see more than £5000 worth of stuff there.

He says make him an offer on any car.

Under eBay rules if he put up something silly like £100 & you clicked BUY NOW then he would have to sell you all the cars for £100.

He's just using the site as another form of advertising.

You can call the number & arrange to meet or make an offer. He might even list it for you with a buy now price if you wanted to buy through eBay.

He's just using the site as another form of advertising.

He is indeed, that's pretty much what the "classified" section of ebay is for.

He has no expectation of receving 100k for his stock, - it's just since there's no bidding facility or BIN available on a classified, by sticking a ridiculously high (or low) potential price tag on his ad he is simply trying to attract passing interest in his stuff, & like most classified advertisers, he goes on to encourage you to make an offer should you see anything you like.

Motor dealers and service providers like the Classified section as it pushes trade without incurring the large 'final value' ebay fees that auctions and buy-it-now's do.
