    all,

Need a little advice currently have Sky ( All packs €70 per month )
    in the living room.

Elsewhere in the house I have UPC basic digital / phone / Broadband

want to try and reduce cost and get the best of both worlds - have TV's in 3 Rooms.

Problems are Kids channels on UPC are as good as with Sky, and the payroom & Bedroom only has UPC.

Should I dump Sky and increase UPC and get DVR/Multiroom

..have a quad port LNB - and have 2 TV cables into livingroom and Playroom

    any advice?

presume some one has figured out the best combo?

    THanks

You don't specify what UPC phone and BB packages your on, so it makes it harder.

    Your options are as so.

    1) Drop UPC go all Sky.

You can keep just the UPC phone and BB, but you'll pay an extra €6 per month for it, but you'll save €20 on UPC digital basic.

Get Sky multiroom in the other two rooms. This will cost an extra €30 per month (€15 per month for the first 12 months) and you'll get all the channels replicated.

Under this option you get the best TV experience, but not the cheapest.

Cost €90 to Sky, UPC cost reduced by €14

    2) Go all UPC.

Cost €95.5 for all the channels plus two digital multiroom. However you are already paying €20 towards that and you would continue to save €6 on phone and BB.

So definitely the cheaper option, but I'd imagine it would be painful to go from Sky+ to UPC+, which is currently inferior.

You do have many other options. Perhaps go Sky, get multiroom in only the kids room and use RF out + magic eye from the main TV room to the bedroom.

Or go Free To Air Satellite in the kids room and go either FTA Sat and/or RF out + magic eye from the main TV room to the bedroom.

Switch to UPC Digital+ in the main room and just put the basic 17 analog channels in the other two rooms (probably the cheapest option). Could combine with FTA Sat in the other two rooms to give more options.

    ..weel i dont 'need' anything

but i'd like to have all channels available in all rooms

bit worried about the picture quality of UPC Digital though?

on the other side every time I want to watch a movie and it rains hard - SKY packs it in!

But if I get everything on UPC - in all rooms - i'm only spending an extra €3 euro - but still do not have the channel selection

but currently Kids want to watch Jetix - and we dont have it on UPC - not sure if you can get it even with Digital MAX or whatever. And Music channels are not aplenty on UPC either

    So thats causing logistical issues!

Whats available on FTA for Kids & Music ?

Jetix can only be gotten through Sky.
Its not on UPC, its not on freesat - Just Sky.
FTA kids channels are fairly Lame.
CBBC, CBeebies, CITV, Pop, Tiny Pop, Pop Girl and Kix (and the respective +1s)
    Not that much really.
Seems like it's got to be Sky.. with perhaps a better dish?

Tell the kids to suck it up. Some of us grew up with just 2 to 4 channels and we survived.
