Does anyone know of a supplier that sells chromic acid? It does a lovely job cleaning carbs and leaves brass like new.

Would citric acid do the same job? available in tub quantities from any agricultural supplier and therefore dirt cheap.

Stay well away from chromic acid if you value your respitory system, skin and general wellbeing. If you must get a carb cleaned in chromic acid, get it done professionally.

Thanks, I'm well aware of the dangers.

I was looking for this before and couldn't find any. What do agricultural suppliers stock it for?

I doubt it, if you were, you wouldn't even be considering using it. Do you have a fume hood with an emergency shower right beside it?
