Burning oil

    just wondering, my car burns a good bit of oil and i think its massivly effecting my emmisions, would using whines engine flush and new oil before an nct help much?

    no. that won't help. you need to stop the oil being burnt in the first place. you may be able to use an additive to reduce oil consumption. I used to use this all the time when I had Italian stuff. it thickenns up the oil, drawbacks are that the oil may not ofer the same level of protection as the thinner stuff, but I'm guessing you won't be getting another 10 years out if this one so it's prob not an issue :)

    i tried an additive but doesnt seem to help much, only thiong that has helped was mineral motor oil from tescos, it doesnt seem to burn off much oil as regular oil but still does burn a fiar bit of it

    Nothing much you can do about it. You can repair the engine but it would probably cost more than the car itself unless you can do it yourself.
