Ordering a Ford Mustang

One of my mechanic friends was asking me about buying full unassembled Ford Mustangs from america. I was Googleing around a bit but I don't even know what to search for. Does anyone know of any company in the states or anywhere else that you can order them from? I am talking about a real car and not a replica model or anything like that

Will stand corrected if I'm wrong but very much doubt that's possible dude!

    P.S. - Why?

I'm not exactly sure. I think it was a project he wanted to do or something. I'd never heard of it being done either but he usually knows more about this stuff than me.

Where would be the best place to look for used muscle cars in Ireland? Are they pretty hard to come by?

I was thinking to myself that maybe he thought he could save on VRT or something but either way there is no way you'll find anything like that in Ireland and almost definitely not anywhere else. Either way, shipping costs would kill any savings he thought he might have. If he wants a new or new-ish Mustang there are a good few for sale here (Carzone / CBG) and lots in the the UK, however running costs are high, i.e. tax and insurance, never mind the fuel. Would be better off buying a late 60's Fastback and seeing as he is a mechanic he can tune it and upgrade brakes, suspension, transmission etc. so it will behave more like a modern day car - wouldn't cost mega money to do and he can avail of classic tax and insurance.

This is one of the best Fastbacks for sale at the moment:

Or this (will go for similar money)

Neither cars need much work (if any). Alternatively if your mech wants to get his hands ditry(er) he could buy a resto project but whatever he buys as a resto he will end up putting twice what he paid in to it to restore to anything close to the condition of these two babys.

Shoulda kept my 69 Shelby convertable - I could retire on the cash from that now !

ANOTHER possibility is putting a V8 into a Focus saloon ( Street sleeper ? ) - kits for this ARE available

There isn't really such a thing as an unassembled Mustang, the body and the chassis are the same thing, there is no frame that you can stick parts to. If you wanted to bring in a full body then it would be roughly the same cost as bringing in a finished mustang, with the added expense and work of needing to build a full car.

There is a crowd (google fails me at the moment) that sell a full new Mustang body using modern materials, however the body normally sells for more then you can buy a Mustang that drives, so there would be very little savings there.

Bodies are available search for Gateway Classic Mustang. They built a classic Bullitt Mustang for Chad McQueen (Steve McQueens son ). Search Dynacorn and Year Oneand its all there. Good Luck.
