Strange bike noises

    Hi

Just got new shimano pedals on the bike and got it serviced a few weeks ago too. Just over the last week, i've noticed a strange clicking / straining sound around the gears but can't for the life of me figure out where / what's causing it. It seems to only happen when i'm pushing myself and it seems like the pedals are straining. Is this possible???

    Thanks for any help.

Could be the bottom bracket also - I'd say you might have to go down the route of elimination on this one.

Start by examining the cranks to see if there's play in them, if there is then you're talking about getting a nwe BB (not very expensive). If not then set about tightening the cleats on your shoes and tightening the pedals to see if that helps things. Again if no joy then maybe check the saddle and seatpost clamps are correctly adjusted and tightened etc etc. It's a bit of detective work and can be a PITA but you'll find the source of the sound eventually.
