So here I am in Queenstown and I want to buy a pair of Ski's.

I want a beginner to advanced pair that I can grow into over the next however long they last years!

How much am I expected to spend? I don't want to spend more than a few hundred euro on everything if possible simply because I have enough hobbies as it is and not enough time to do them all!!!! But Skiing is something I will be doing a couple of times a year so I need to get sorted.

Any tips? What to get? Can I try before I buy in Queenstown? oh and are Browns ski shop the best in the biz?

The name Browns sounds familiar, is that the one right next door to the AJHacket shop? If so that is where I was going to suggest having a look as I seemed to remember it being one of the bigger shops in QT.

Do you have boots already? If not that should be your first purchase though, and then maybe try out a few different types of skis to see which you prefer for getting around the mountain and depending on what you like to do.

I'm not sure what prices are likely to be in NZD though so can't really give an estimate of what range you'd be looking at there.

Will be down in QT myself in a couple of weeks for the season so keep an eye out for one of about 40 people around town and on the slopes who will all be wearing the same Salomon jacket with Peak Leaders written on the back of it.
