Is there any direct/chartered flights anymore? Finding it difficult to get a direct flight , anyone know who's running that route these days?

    regards

Eurocypria seem to change their minds every season about whether they do it or not. Though at the moment they don't seem to be.

We tried to go last year, only direct option seemed to be to get charters through travel agents, who were looking for anything from 500 to 550 return for flight only.

In the end it was easier to get a chearp Ryanair flight to London and go Gatwick-Paphos with Easyjet (note Paphos is listed on their destinations as Cyprus(Paphos)). They also fly Manchester-Paphos.

BA also fly Gatwick-Paphos but you'll pay about twice as much as with Easyjet, who we found quite good for a budget airline for things like baggage and flexibility.

Or finally there's Cyprus Airways from London who I've given up on due to their abysmal website (which among other things's quote you ex-tax), their 5kg cabin baggage allowance, and their 12 euro booking fee. And the site is broken anyway.

If you do have to go through London you might be better looking at some UK based agency like ThomsonFly, might get a deal including accommodation.

In case I've missed anything, try checking out all arrivals at Paphos for a few days, it'll give you an idea of the airlines/destinations you can use.

If you do find any direct flights, please post back, I'm thinking of heading over in September or so, would be useful.

I looked into this before booking my latest holiday and i came to the conclusion that it was too much hassle. i think the cheapest route i came up with was lufthansa to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to minuch and Munich to Pahpos:eek:

You can also fly with monarch airways from the UK to Larnaca by the way.

Thanks for the replies , i've got 2 keep prices so far.

    1. £295. Belfast to paphos direct outbound and inbound

    2. £289. Outbound : Belfast to Gatwick , Gatwick to Paphos
    Inbound : Paphos to Dublin.

    What you think of that?

    Regards

    That's not bad.

I'm in Cyprus now and flew Aer Lingus Dublin - Heathrow and then Cyprus Airways Heathrow - Larnaca but I could also have flown to Pahpos and paid roughly the same price as that.

Alternatively my mate was getting a 7 day return trip including accommodation for 200e from Budget Travel (direct flight) last week for this week.

Flights (nothing seems to be direct): http://www.dublinairport.com/plan-your-trip/destination_map.html

Dublin - Larnaca - Austrian, Aegean, CSA, Condor Flugdienst, Cyprus Airways, Eurocypria, Lufthansa, Al Italia

Dublin - Paphos can be done with BA, Eurocypria, Cyprus Airways, KLM

    Charters: http://www.dublinairport.com/flight-information/destinations-and-airlines/charters.html

Dublin - Larnaca - Budget, Falcon, Sunworld

Dublin - Paphos - Concorde Travel

You can also fly to Erkan on the Turkish side, but I'm not sure how practical that is.

That sounds great from Budget , might have a look into that avenue thanks!

Called concorde today as i had seen that somewhere in their brochure that they fly to paphos. The guy on the phone tells me that it's to larnaca? And it was €459 + €69tax iirc , in around that anyway. To fly to Erkan would be a bit far out as my place in on the tomb of the kings in paphos so i'd like to fly into paphos if possible however it's 1h:20min from larnaca airport with the motorway

@Orla how the weather there at the min? Good i presume!

I rang them last year (or the year before) to ask how come they were doing Dublin direct in winter but not summer, and they told me they were going direct in summer, but only as a charter through a travel agent - it was budget or sunway, someone like that, €500+

It's a bit rubbish, I booked a relative in April home through the UK, £200 business class with BA Paphos-Dublin. Can still get similar prices from there now, but get fleeced from here

Were those Belfast figures for return flights? Who with?

Copied and pasted from my emails , i see chartered flights do a great deal on parking at belfast too , a little over 2 hours would have me at that airport! It's also an easier airport to navigate than dublin , less people there = less stress lol!

There are no direct flights to Paphos from Dublin Airport. These were cancelled by Sunway.

There is a Eurocypria direct flight but it goes to Larnaca up to the end of October. The reason you can't book through their website is because a) they're useless, it's more convenient to call their reservations line b) budget travel is in fact chartering this flight.

You can get a "seat only" for this direct flight at a premium price. However, what I would do is look for 'specials' you could always forfeit the accomodation and just use the flight.

Bear in mind, the direct flight goes to Larnaca, which is 1 hour and 50 minutes drive to Tomb of the Kings. The road is great, but it's still a fair drive and expensive in a Taxi.

I would suggest looking at options flying direct from BELFAST. thomascook.com

Also, panorama does direct flights to Larnaca from Dublin.

Via uk is the best bet though, whether with Cyprus Airways via stansted using a ryanair flight to connect (this goes to Paphos on Tuesdays).

Check other tour operators such as monarch from UK. Otherwise BA, Lufthansa, etc. But these are expensive. Cyprus Airways is usually priced good.

    ...... good luck!

I am going to Paphos in August, going EI to Gatwick and then with First Choice (I think it's called Thompson Air) on to Paphos.
