problem with engine compression

    problem with engine compression. checked heater plugs intially as car was struggling to start. then upon further inspection found that it was the engine compression that was done. it could be the injectors perhaps. if not its prob gona need a new engine i think

    any thoughts on this

    How did you check the compression?

    It is a bit of a leap of thinking to go from compression is shot to could be injectors..

    mechanic checked it for me. he said it was probably the compression and at a long shot possibly the injectors but said they would have to be really bad to be causing the problems.

    what u think of that?

    Yeah dont really know how he came up with that, unless it is wild smokey and he is going on the too much fuel/not enough air theory.

    Those engines have a known head gasket weakness, might be loosing compression through to another cylinder.

    replacement engines appear to be virtually non existent with sub 200 k miles

    yeah theres a few around still tho

    mine is running great problem is getting it going its a shame
