Starts tonight, various repeats then new programmes next Monday.

    9 pm
Preparing For Take Off. Episode 1
Series charting the development of Britain's airports and how they have transformed the country, in the process creating both freedom and fear. This part takes us from the imperial glamour of Britain's first airport terminal at Croydon to the internationally-agreed hieroglyphics on today's taxiways and runways. Using archive and access to airports' hidden corners, it reveals the local rivalry, skulduggery and sheer passion for flight behind our airports. Contributors include Lord Foster.

    10 pm
Glyn Worsnip presents a history of RAF Hendon. Originally called London Aerodrome, this extraordinary airfield has been an RAF station since 1918. Current and former pilots talk about their memories of Hendon.

    10.35
Darling Let's Set Up an Airline.
Series which revisits and updates stories from the classic documentary strand. In 1990, husband and wife team Roy and Merlyn Suckling, who had started the UK's smallest international airline, were about to double the size of their fleet - by acquiring a second plane. It was a classic tale of plucky British determination. After a repeat of the original film we revisit the Sucklings to find out how they have fared in the face of cut-throat competition in the toughest industry of all.

I remember Suckling Airways from my STN days. Thought they would be long gone. Shocked to see they are still operating. Now Scot Airways!
I know some of the faces featured.

Thank you for the warning. I had no idea this program was going to show. The media are around quite a lot these days filming.
