    Hi All
I'm an avid reader but this is my first contribution...
I am interested in importing some bits and pieces from China. I've read previous threads regarding Alibaba and the danger of scammers etc.
Have any of you imported from companies listed on Made in China? Some of the companies are listed as beind audited - can anyone give me advice on this please?
I am interested in importing construction/household items and wonder if anyone has had dealings with a company listed on Made in China and if so what was your experience?
    Look forward to your replies.:)

    Hello Noon,

maybe a slightly more nuanced view of things Chinese. In order to do business in China you need to be "on the ground", visit your potential suppliers and develop your relationships. That only makes sense if you your business justifies making several trips to China to develop relationships with potential suppliers. Obviously you need
to know your way around or have trusted contacts that can guide you through the
maize and help you avoid the pitfalls.

    If your business does not justify the investment of trips to China, some of the names mentioned in this thread such as Chirl Sourcing and China Green are a good starting point. They are based here in Ireland and have the experience, expertise and presence in China to source your products. Some other companies that provide similar services are ;

    Ogham Sourcing (www.oghamsourcing.com)
    China Portal Ltd., Dublin (www.chinaportalltd.com)
    Sercom Solutions, Limerick (www.sercomsolutions.com)
FSI Ireland Ltd., Tullow, Co Carlow (www.fsiireland.com)

Hopefully this will enable you to develop your idea a little further. I would steer clear of entertaining some of the websites you mentioned. Truly anybody can develop a website and create an impression. You need to be face to face and inspect the goods you intend to buy and tour the factories to make sure that what you are buying is the right quality. Any of the above companies will be able to help you with that.

    regards,
    Rudolf 289

Rudolf 289 as always you give very useful information and advice freely - you are a star - thank you. As you probably gathered, I am not 'big business' - just starting out and grateful for any help or advice I can get. Thanks again :)

Great info in here, what sort of a commission are the above companies looking for or how do the rates work?

    Hello Noon,

I am not big business either, just a one man band with over 30 years experience in Global Transportation. For a bit of background, please see : http://www.linkedin.com/in/rdglogisticsltd. If you need any further information, please feel free to drop me a pm.

    Hello Entrepeneur,

I am not certain how exactly the pricing structure works, it probably varies from company to company and also is likely to be driven by volumes. Also, the list is by no means exhaustive, these are some of the companies I have come across.

Best thing to do is to contact these companies and place an inquiry with them.

    Regards,
    Rudy
