    Hey all,
Can anyone recommend a book or good website with easy to follow instructions on the jargon on digital photography. Complete novice to photography here but it's something I'd have a big interest getting into.

    Thanks in advance,
    Pat

Welcome to boards ask anything you want of us and we will only be too happy to answer. As for a book "Understanding Exposure" is always a good place to start, as for jargon that's just something you pick up as you go along.

The FAQ thread is also a good place to look as well.

at the end of the day it is only jargon, get a book like 'understanding exposure'. that'll do more than learning bout sensors and megapixels

I recommend combining the book recommended above "Understanding Exposure" with your camera's manual - an often overlooked gem of information on how to do the technical setting of your camera to something that may be referenced in the understanding exposure.

As an introduction to what to look out for in different types of photography (portrait, wedding, sport, etc..) - an easy and simple introduction would be the "The Digital Photography Book" by Scott Kelby. Amazon do a "search inside" if you want to get a preview.

You'll return again and again to "Understanding Exposure" whereas you'll probably read "The Digital Photography Book" and put it on the shelf.
