Best option for cheap calls to Spain

    A question for you clever types, if you wouldn't mind.

    My family are going to Spain for the summer, and rather than run up silly phone costs, I was looking at a Skype-type option.

    What would we need on either side to accomodate this? Broadband in their apartment, laptop with Skype installed, and the same on my side? Is it that simple?

    Yes it is simple as that.

    Or you could use VOIP from another supplier rather than be tied into Skype ..... there are many such suppliers but I have found Blueface to suit me, as it allows my VOIP to be called from landlines without any payment on my part.
    Calls between PCs are free
    I have no connection with Blueface except that of being happy with their service. (blueface.ie)
    Such a VOIP account will allow communication between all other VOIP users with the exception of Skype which is closed to everyone else.
