Hi lads , google fails me so I was just wondering does anyone know of an AU plugin that can play an audio file and be triggered by midi to start/stop.

I know it sounds ridiculously simple but there is nothing out there besides the built in Apple Audio Unit sound file player but that doesn't support midi afaik. There is of course the sampler way of doing it but that would be slight overkill and as its for live use (using Mainstage) it would be great if it was as simple as possible.

    Cheers

Don't know if you have tried this, but in the actions folder I think it is, there are applescripts, that you can use to control itunes with a midi keyboard through mainstage. Like you set up a playlist in itunes, and you can control the playlist with a midi keyboard via mainstage using the applescripts for play/pause, rewind, etc.
If ya can figure that out...
