Hi, i've bought a couple of things on Amazon and they're due to arrive Friday. i've just found out i need to jet off on buisness for a couple of weeks tomorrow so there won't be anyone around to recieve the delivery.

Will the items be returned to amazon by an post and will i be refunded by Amazon because of the distance selling rule?

    Thanks for any advice.

Not a direct answer to your question but if you act quickly the mailminder service may suit: http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/MainContent/Personal+Customers/Managing+Mail/mailminder.htm
It's not cheap though, and it may be too late to activate.

They won't be returned for several days, possibly a week or two. The parcel will be in the local sorting office. Couldn't you just get someone to go and collect it?

Look up the phone number and give them a ring to see how long they'll hold it for. They may even hold it a bit longer if you explain that you're away but will collect it on your return.
