Bought the "Bike 1" build last december for 999 Stg now 1600 Stg.
So maybe spectacular deal then, fair price now.
I am very happy with this bike. Lightweight frame, looks great and decent bolt on bits. Its well liked on this forum too.

Hey Victor, I should have said that I bought that bike too last December but it wasn't full DuraAce - mixture of DA and FSA Gossamer, great bike.

Have they really gone up that much or are these actually higher spec bikes than what we got in December?

I think it's a good deal. It's full 7900 Dura Ace, which retails for £1,199, compared to last years 7800 build (with non group crankset etc) that's £799

Based on groupset, it's a pretty good deal!

7900 init. There's an €500 premium on hiding those shameful gear cables.

Lumen told me on Saturday that planet-xs are ugly. Still smarting slightly about that one.

Or get SRAM that already hides 'em without a premium.

Tom, you've seen Lumen in the flesh -doe he look that the sort of guy who has taste? Don't listen to him, they're gorgeous!

That was a rare moment of diplomacy. I think I might have told godihatethehills that she seemed like a really good cyclist, for a girl.

Still, I can now expect to arrive home to a burning plastic frameset on my front lawn. What goes on Summer Drinks should stay on Summer Drinks.

And no, I don't have any taste.

Yes the Dec "08 C18 sale had FSA cranks and Tektro Brakes. I wouldn't want to pay any extra for the higher spec 7900 shifters though. (Carbon A levers instead of alu, and putting the gear cables under the bar tape. Some reviewers dont like them because they are too smooth and dont like the lack of a distinctive click when shifting.

To be fair, it's not just the shifters that are higher spec. All the components on 7900 have been changed in some way afaik, (making them lighter at least), and the 7900 Brakes and Cranks are a lot better imo

    Agreed on the weight issue.
The only Dura ace component I don't have is the crankset, but I find no noticable functional difference between FSA, Tektro 720, Ultegra and 7800 Dura ace. Once they are adjusted correctly I wouldnt know which one Im using without looking down and I ride them all on different bikes regularly.
