Suppliers in Ireland

I am about to sell my bike and buy a Specialized. For this I need to know approximately when I can receive the new bike.

McConvey site says 'not in stock'. So I kindly inquired. This is the answer copied and pasted:

'if it is in stock at our suplier then it is gereally a week to 10 days'

    which is quite depressing.

Cycleways site says '3-7 days' but apparently clicking around the site they don't have any bike in stock.

Any of you has ever successfully bought a bike mail order from these two suppliers? I wonder if I should forget Specialized and get another bike from more experienced mail order shops such as Wiggle or Evans where stock levels are clear and dispatch is within 3 days.

Was in Stagg cycles over the weekend and they were all sold out of the 2009 Specialised stock and aren't getting any more in.

They will only become available when the 2010 models land and prices are expected to be higher than the equivalent 2009 models.

Yes but if Cycleways are the Irish distributor for Specialized (aren't they?), they should have at least one bike in stock!?

I bought my Langster in Cycleways on Saturday. According to the guy I was dealing with, they only had one left in stock ( a 54 if anyone is looking for one :))

He mentioned that stock was so low that a lot of the models were no longer listed for order on the Specialized dealer site. He wasn't sure when new stock would start to arrive.

It might be worth ringing Cycleways to see what they actually have. I was in there on Sunday and they had a Specialized Tarmac Elite down in the basement showroom (can't recall the size), but the website only mentions the Tarmac Pro and doesn't list the Elite at all.
