Want to put a freesat box in my daugthers bedroom, just trying to establish whats the best box for this purpose that will provide a straight forward EPG, minimal fuss, etc..

    Advice appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have a Humax Foxsat HD Freesat box (approx £150.00 in UK) which I have found very good. There are cheaper boxes than this as it is an HD. However I think that the small extra cost is well worth it as you might want the HD facility later.

    Regards,

    Verso

Yeah, its only a teenagers bedroom, so not sure I want to add the HD expense. I know the sat4free Grundigs are around €70, maybe thats just the best option ??

you could use a second hand sky box.

Yeah, might consider that as well.

As a standalone box, the Freesat/Sat4free receivers are much better than a Sky digibox. No EPG cluttered with encrypted channels, and no messing about trying to add channels not on the EPG e.g. Five.
