What does scoring mean?

ok a question for you all about something that has been bothering me for the last week when the bf and i had a convo about people in our pasts etc. he had told me about girls he had 'scored' but it turns out when he says scored he usually means naked in bed, fingering/hand job and all that whereas to me it just means a snog! im quite shocked that he was at that stage with so many girls, as id consider it something you do in a relationship or when properly seeing someone!!

As far as Im concerned scoring means having penetrative sex with someone.

Of course it has different meanings in different areas but in general scoring=sex.

Whenever anyone says they scored someone i tell them to be specific. Means different things from different parts of the country.

Depends. It can mean anything from a kiss to sex depending on the context it is in.

These days it means snogging - according to the people I know in their mid 20s/

It means shagging to me (mid 30s)

where i come from it means kissing, but where i live now it means full sex.

Regardless of what way he meant it, now that he's in a relationship with you, does it really matter what he did in the past?

well i dont like to think that hes been with loads more people than me, it's not very equal that way! With past bfs, we have had a similar number of people in our past and it seems the current bf has a lot more!

That really shouldn't matter. The fact that you're together now is important.

You risk tearing the relationship apart if you don't realise that.

Also, I've heard scoring used in both contexts. Slang is confusing.

Well in most relationships I've been in, one partner - either me or him - has tended to have more experience than the other, and it has never been an issue - I don't see how it could be, unless you're going to sit around chatting about your exes, or use it as ammo in a fight - neither of which is particularly healthy!

If you like the guy, just forget about it (and I mean, do not ever bring it up with him) ... if not, use it as excuse to break up if that's what you want.

I guess it is as much a culture question as a slang question. I mean when i was in my teens and 20, 21, of course I snogged guys when I went out but I can't imagine having let them all finger me etc! it's way too intimate imo and so i was shocked that people actually do this! maybe im just totally naive but when i hear 'scored' i assume it's just kissing!
