    hey,

have a 01 black alfa 147, its got 72k on the clock, windscreen wiper is not working properly and some heavy scratches on the door. Do you think i would get any sort of trade in off this car? I don't think id be able to sell it.

    Fix it

Try breaker yards for wiper motor and you might be lucky if you try enough places and get the same coloured door. The car would be worth that bit extra fixed and easier to trade/sell.

I'd check to see if the nut holding the linkage on to the motor had come

off, recently fixed an Alfa with the same problem.

As for the rest, if you can spend a few bob on it keep it.

You can get those motors pretty easily, you should keep it as its worth more to you in how well it looks and drives when mainteined than what you would get on a trade in or private sale right now.
Unless the maintenance cost is an issue because it just has to be done to keep Alfa's driving like an Alfa.

i'd say wax over the scratches (that will take the rough look off them) and bring it to a dealer to look for a trade in

Fix the wipers and give it a colour polish. Let it off for small money then buy straight

Clean it up - fix the wiper motor and Stick it on Carzone or CBG

Garage wanted to give me €1,500 trade in for my 01 147.:eek:

I cleaned it up and fixed a water pump and sold it for €6,000:eek: (14 months ago)

It can be done. But when you're rid of it you WILL miss it greatly.

    Best of Luck selling it!!

If you do decide to sell, let us know the model and spec.
I speak to a few Alfa fans, always someone looking to change.
Has to be a 156 for me, cant manage with the small cabin in 147/GT

    Maruney.
