I found this test obviously not scientific, but if everybody answers honestly then it should be fun to compare results.

    My result:

It seems to rate someone who thinks other drivers are too slow exactly the same as someone who drink drives.

As I say it is not scientific, I found it on a boyracer idiotic forum while reading their comments for a laugh. One particular "Gardai thread" had me in stitches.

No can do no more :D

Anyway before I realised, I did the test and my result was A - safe driver. And I was honest and admitted to things like speeding and the rest :)

When I offered to drive the 7 seater over my own car, the answer I received was

"Isn't it better for fewer people to die? "

Funny, because I've never had an accident. Not one.

How dangerous of a driver are you?

    What does that even mean?

    Mine?
You scored a 87% (A)! Your driving level is: very safe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,183 ✭✭✭Fey!

    82%.

    I lost points for:

    a) driving more than 12 years
    b) occasionally going 5 -10mph above the speed limit (usually for overtaking)
    c) talking on the phone (despite the use of a phone kit)
    d) fender bender (touchy feely parking)
    e) sometimes thinking that others are going too slow
    f) somewhat experienced in different vehicles
    g) assessing my own driving skills as average

    82708.JPG

Interestingly, if in the skills I had put "if I'm behind the wheel, you'd better flee for your life" instead of "average", I'd only have dropped to a "slight risk" 77%!!!

Meh, its too easy. Give me a driving simulator of a line of cars behind a overloaded tractor doing 10kph and lets see who wins?

    im safe....take the odd risk
i hate when you're passing something out and half way through you realise its dangerous and you just have to go for it and miss the oncoming car by a nose air!
it happened me before and its scary

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,626 ✭✭✭timmywex

    79%

Most of my aparent danger is due to being driving only 8 months, and lack of expirience on other vehicles....fricken insurance.

I consider myself reasonably good driver for my expirience though. Passed the test no problem, have read roadcraft, road traffic acts etc, have been thought advanced/pursiot/defensive driving aswell

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,426 ✭✭✭McGrath5

    I scored 61%, a little risk

Same here, but that test is a load of balls.

Question 10, about the traffic lights; so, you're 22m from the light in a 60kmph zone and it goes amber. They want you to say you'd slow down, but hitting the brakes at that distance would be dangerous. The only options are slow down and speed up, where as the correct answer would be to do nothing, continue driving.

Having no experience in other cars also makes you a dangerous driver, as does thinking others drive slow? If someone is driving at 70 in a 100km zone, then they are driving slow, there's no think about it.

It's a bit of fun, but I wouldn't take anything from it. If anything, I'd give myself a C+, rating me a B proves how broken it is.

Changing the radio station or volume is dangerouse .

I have steering wheel radio controls, and don't even think about it - if I like the song, the volume goes up, when an advert comes on, the channel gets changed - it is almost automatic.

Personally I would have given myself a 'C'

    I'm an ok driver.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,456 ✭✭✭✭Mr Benevolent

One major flaw in the test is the fallacy that the better you personally rate your driving, the safer you are. That's completely backward in my opinion.

Bit silly that the risk goes up if you put in you drive 7 or so hours a week

I answered every question honestly (no point in lying to oneself) and some of my answers reflected on my bolder youth! 46% (C) Oh the shame!

I'm a much safer driver these days TBH! ;)

    A 86%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 71,186 ✭✭✭✭L1011

73%, presumably for the amount of driving I do, the speed I do on motorways and the fact that I think that people who are not keeping reasonable progress are going too slow.
