Just thought i would let everyone know about some great Norwegian music festivals that you probably never heard of, but are definitely worth a visit. I live in Norway myself and have been to these festivals and can say that they are a nice break from the typical commercial Oxegen type festival.

These festivals are in some beautiful locations, Hove Festivalen for one is amazing, its on a small Island connected to the mainland by a bridge. Right on the waterfront surrounded by beaches.

Most of the festivals have all the usual big festival touring bands, but you also get a nice mix of some great Norwegian bands, even a dash of Norwegian Death Metal if thats your thing

http://www.skralfestival.net/ - Mixed Genres, cancelled this year, but probably going ahead next year, best small boutique type festival in my opinion. Was voted best in Norway 2008.
