I have not had the pleasure, but reading Kevins (Hooked) I might just have to pay a visit.

Let me put it this way. Lotto win=house and membership. If you can find a better use of natural terrain let me know. As kevin mentions in his book a must play and the best value for money bar none.

Played it in Dec 07, over three beautiful icy mornings. What a course and great great value!! It's an eternity from Dublin but worth the trip...a must play

Playing it next month and i cannot wait. Im heading to donegal for the week but im playing carne, enniscrone, strandhill and rosses point as well as the donegal courses murvagh, rossapena and ballyliffin. It will be tyring but worth it. Been doing overtime in work for weeks now just to pay for it!! Havnt ever heard a bad word said about carne. Its just a pity its so far away.

    Thanks for the plug, guys,

I played it on consecutive days and in different wind conditions - on the par three 14th I hit a 5 iron one day and a wedge the next. It was a completely different course.

Carne is astounding and if it wasn't so far from anywhere it would probably be the most talked-about links in Ireland. As Stringy said, it's well worth the trip, but play it at least twice - on a first visit some of the holes will blow your mind.

Top class track, everyone should play there. If it was in kerry it'd be no.1 in the country

Couple of ordinary holes but cant complain for €50 for 36 holes!!

Have to agree there. My only cirticism is that the front nine is pretty ordinary with some ridiculous holes - think the 8th is a poor hole as the entrance is too narrow!

You are one jammy guy. Many of the best courses in Ireland are on that list - hope you get the weather for it. And, if you're going all that way, don't forget Portsalon and Narin & Portnoo.

Super track, if it was on east coast it would be 150 euro to play it.
