    Hi
Looking for some advice. I am currently working but always have business ideas like everyone. I have been out on my own before and no it’s not easy.

However I was thinking of setting up a company employing a couple of people i.e. someone qualified in marketing and someone qualified in web design and working on some of the projects.

I would obviously be able to support it for 6 months to a year and if nothing came of it so be it at least I tried.

Was wondering if anyone has ever tried this. Also what would people in marketing and web design salary expectations be at the moment.

    Thanks

Im sorry call me niave, but if you have 40k-50k plus expenses to blow on a "well at least I tried" surely there is a better use for this money?? Salary all depends on where in the country you are and how qualified do you want them?! I would hope you'd be heavily involved in the business yourself?

I personally wouldnt rush into anything, if your not web aware you could get ripped off. Is this something you just want to throw money at as it were or have you a passion for internet?

That's a very vague post robseven.

What sort of company? I don't feel any enthusiasm or passion in your post coming through.

Am I missing something or are you just exceptionally laid back but have it all sorted in your head? :)

You should focus your resources towards the marketing end & networking to build enough of a database of direct contacts who would be interested in your new venture / products, when regarding a Web biz.
Without forgetting the development side, you Need to know a little of development or run the risk of skilled contractors taking their time to complete something for high costs.

All depends what you are trying to do as there is a wide gap between a Website Designer & Web Developer (apps).

The Web is an unforgiving place for Web startups, you got to spend alot of time pushing into the market & keep your development in check, always.
