My son has a DSi that we bought in America. In the system settings when you go to set the country Ireland is not an option, so I've selected USA. But now its causing a problem because I wish to buy some points so he can download some games from the shop. When i enter my credit cards details its looking for an american address and won't accept mine. Any suggestions as to what |I can do.

You're out of luck, Lisa. The DSi is region locked for purchases from the shop. The American DSi can only buy from the American shop and the European DSi can only buy from the European shop.

Could I purchase DS points for the American shop through a web site or anything other way?

I bought points from an Ebay shop and they emailed me the code, all done in about 15 mins. I got 2000 points for 18 euro so I'm happy with that and my son can download the games he wants so he's happy too!
