wireless usb key connection problems

It works most of the times but sometimes it will just lose the connection and i will have to restart the wireless software.

I had the same problem with another computer and different wireless setup.

I have Perlico internet going into zyxel modem and then a zyxel wireless usb key.

Is there any setting i can do to make it stop disconnecting as it is getting annoying.

    Thanks,

    Boggy

try change the channel the wireless is on to something like 11, maybe something else that is wireless around the place is interfering with it.

its already on 11. i dont think it is interference. maybe just a tweak that needs to be done on the usb keys settings. there is quite a few setting those, such as:

    ibbs wireless mode
    preamble mode
    pspxlink mode
    Qos tag policy

then on the value side there is:

IBBSS B mode and IBBS G mode. I am currently on B mode.

    ANyone familiar with this?

I suppose i can just do trial and error to see if i can sort the problem out.

Well for a start you should be using G mode assuming your router also supports it.

What OS are you using? If it's Vista you could try using this.

i changed it to the g mode setting and it seems to be working fine. If it does happen again i think i might just link directly into the modem rather then deal with the wireless connection issue.

    Thanks for the help
