Ive SEEN the 4 hour Asian version of the film. Half of it watched, cant wait to watch the second half after work tonight. So far it has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING---the battle sequences even surpass those of the LOTR movies---the story is gripping, the music and score in general are gorgeous, the acting is superb, the characters are awesome and well balanced....dialogue is a little bit cliched but thats to be expected from an asian film. Would recommend to all movie lovers...it would suit all tastes. I dont know for a fact but i would assume that the much shorter european version cut out a lot of the plot/character development etc to fit in all the action-pitty-but defo still worth watching!

Yeah, there's an hour and a half missing from the release here, I can do 4 hours just gimme a pee intermission! :(

I imagine it to be something like Hero mixed with Troy? Hope to see it.

Ya, i'm pissed that i'll have to buy (*cough*download*cough*) the 4 hour version, and only get to see the shortened version in the cinema here. Looks great though. Tony Leung Chiu-Wai is brilliant, and Takeshi Kaneshiro was Samanosuke (=legend).
