Im feeling a bit stuck in my career. Im a teacher and lucky to have a job in current climate. Its just it seems to be the same old thing year after year after year. I want to spread my wings a bit but not sure how or what to do. I have thought about applying for Vice Principal's jobs but Im not sure if I have the organisational skills required.Because of moving around I don't even have a post of responsibility at the moment.

Though I have recently completed a post grad in Educational Management.

The holidays might help you relax about the whole thing!

Seriously though, sounds like you need to just bide your time, get a post and prove yourself with that. Your qualifications and more experience will help you on the road to senior management.

Unfortunately, there is an embargo on new posts! But I can always offer my services for free!

TBH, you really should look at some career advice from a mentor or perhaps professional careers counsellor. (Does your union offer a service like this?) The fact that you enrolled in the post-grad, and completed it, but now have no idea what do do with it is worrying, and there's a real risk that advice from randoms on the internet may be worth exactly what you pay for it.

When I started course 2 yrs ago posts were still available. I began it with the possibility of being a VP but not sure If thats what I want to do now. Did my fill with career advisors in the 1990s. Might talk to A VP. Our own VP is a good guy . Just putting it out here -would not base my career move on views from web site alone. This is prob confusing to read but a bit like my head at the moment.Looking for views from those within Education only.
