I recently got a new macbook (8 days before apple released the 13"macbook pros :( )

anyway, what i realised i could do, is through itunes, share my music library that is on an external HD, connected to my imac, wirelessly, through the network in my house. Only problem is, i am looking to sell my imac, so is there anyway i can do this withoug my imac? can i buy a wireless adaptor of sorts and attach it to the HD, or will i have to keep the imac?

If you are talking about a usb external hdd, then something like a Linksys NSLU2 may work. This will make your hdd available wirelessly if you connect the 'slug' to your wireless router.

Should do. Speeds are determined by many factors. If you are using 802.11g wireless then speeds should not be a problem.

btw there is also a Belkin network usb hub which will do the same thing.
