Depends wer ye go, like id say it would be best to prebook somewer if your thinking about going to the full moon party(i think a popular spot is the coral bungalows)..that and my first night in bangkok wer the only places i prebooked..

definitely...prices are almost alayws cheaper than advertised on the net too...depends on the time of the year and how touristy the area is. Also, by not pre-booking yuo can judge with your feet - dont always trust the internet or any guides when it comes to accommodation

Only places I would advise people to book in advance would be when arriving in Bangkok for the first time (it's nice to know where you are going after a long flight) and on koh phagnan for the full moon party as it gets busy.
