She has a clause in her contract - stunt arses would be called in for that kind of thing.

Didn't Jessica Fletcher make a guest appearance on Magnum PI?

I nearly fell away with the excitement of it all.

Columbo is the best whodunnit on TV, no question

.....Gasp as the dishevelled detective plays mental cat and mouse with The Great Santini! Brilliant stuff! :pac:

That woman is like a pandemic .

Jeeze Peter Falk who played Colombo is 81 now.:(
He is someone who I would have loved to have stayed forever young.

He has dementia now and does not remember playing the role.

    How sad is that.. :(

Paul Gerard: When did you first suspect me?
Lt. Columbo: As it happens, sir... about two minutes after I met you.
Paul Gerard: That can't be possible.
Lt. Columbo: Oh, you made it perfectly clear, sir, the very first night when you decided to come to the restaurant directly after you were informed that Vittorio was poisoned.
Paul Gerard: I was instructed to come here by the police.
Lt. Columbo: And you came, sir.
    Paul Gerard: Yes.
Lt. Columbo: After eating dinner with a man that had been poisoned. You didn't go to a doctor. You came because the police instructed you. You didn't go to a hospital. You didn't even ask to have your stomach pumped. Mr. Gerard, that's the damnedest example of good citizenship I've ever seen.

    Classic.

Yeah, his daughter is looking to get guardianship to " Protect him from Fraud or Undue Influence "
    hmm..;)

Poor guy doesn't look the best now.:(

The very same daughter had her dad in court before, about 6 or so years ago I think.

very sad....at least he won't remember all the crap is going on right now...

I was *this* close to getting the complete box set for €50 in Newry.

I think it comes with a DIY divorce kit.

It's seriously good TV and hasn't dated much.

I think it comes with a DIY divorce kit.

It would want to come with a Life Support kit ... once you started, you'd keep going back, for "just one more thing episode"

Anyone remember Mannix ? That show warped my fragile little mind.

I got a boxed set of Hawaii Five - O, " Book 'em Danno"
But I would love to get the Colombo Boxed set.
Don't know Mannix, but love the re runs of The Rockford Files when they are on.

Mannix is top class TV ... deserves more air time.

Watch one episode, tell me I'm wrong.

I love Columbo..I loved the one where the little old lady was the suspect and a cupboard held the crucial clue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,859 ✭✭✭✭Sharpshooter

Was that to do with the lightbulb in the cupboard Ann, or am I thinking of a different one?

It was the Reverend Green in the conservatory with the candlestick. I rest my case!

You know my wife loves candlesticks. She's got 'em all over the house. Can I... Can I take this Reverend? Oh thank you sir. I know Mrs. Columbo will love this.

    ...
    Oh

    There

    Is

    Just

    One

    More

    Thing.

Yeah that's right:). They're always great, sometimes they're on on sky on Sunday afternoons.

Everyone should read "Just One More Thing" by Mr. Falk from 2006 - should be mandatory for the Leaving Cert!! :D

It's not all about Columbo nor could it be described as a biography as such - just a lot of good stories from the man's life. What a character!
