SFMA CAP 2 Exams

Im currently go in through the SFMA exam papers questions on Mixed and Yield Variances. I cant understand how they get the answers in the solutions.I even tried going through the book.It makes no sense.Is it me are most of the sample question solutions wrong not just for the SFMA subject
