The ceremony should go well as long as he doesn't have to make an acceptance speech.

Any need for the personal abuse?

It's a shame that he's being remembered for 4-5 days as Ryder Cup captain rather decades as one of the best golfers on the planet. For what it's worth i think he's unfairly given total blame for the Ryder Cup loss.

His record as a golfer is exceptional and considering what he's given back to the game the gong is very much deserved.

While Nick Faldo may not have the best of personalities you cannot ignore what he did on the golf course. He may not be my favourite golfer but credit where credits due, he did it on the course and raised the bar for all that followed. Best golfer of his generation? Not in my eyes Seve gets that.

    But congrats and well deserved.

It's a non-entity of an award given out by a non-entity of a person to "subjects of the crown" for god knows what.

He is not a nice person, but was an excellent golfer.

If the award actually meant something I would be upset that people who were making a real difference in everyday life championing humanitarian causes weren't getting it and an ex-professional golfer was.

Now if it was a Nobel prize or something then fair enough..
