FF3.5 has been released (beta?). Have heard it's faster than FF3.0? Any other advantages? Disadvantages? Would you install it now or wait for them to fix the bugs that often accompany upgrades?

FF 3.5 itself is pretty stable.

The addons are the problem though. Many are not updated, and the ones that are, the developers don't test them, but rather just change compatible with value..

I've been using it for the last week, its very stable but doesn't support all my add-ons. Its wicked quick, chrome standards. It can be installed alongside Your normal Firefox (it installs in a seperate folder, not upgrade existing) and have 2 different shortcuts for them.

    Porn mode.

edit: seriously. Can't remember what the real name for it is, but porn mode basically sums it up.

To answer your question: I'm happy enough with 3.0 so I'll stick with it until 3.5 is stable (or my distro flags it as an upgrade, whichever comes first).

edit 2: The real name for porn mode is "private browsing"

I had problems with Firefox 3.5 add-ons a couple of weeks ago when I installed. It was fine for a few days but then my Vista didn't like something about it and kept crashing (every 2 hours), So I eventually went back to 3.0.10 (which auto-upgraded to 3.0.11 today). Things are fine now.

My laptop: who needs porn mode? Get off my laptop.

Im sure every new package will be a little faster than the last but FF3 is not nearly as doggish as FF2 was. Im happy to wait a bit.
