    Hi,

I drove my 1961 1200 Beetle years ago, which had that kind of conversion done. You need the following:
    - Set of new 12V bulbs including the control lamps,
    - 12V battery,
    - 12V generator and the voltage regulator,
    - 12V radio, if you replace the old one, otherwise you can make 12/6 voltage converter to use the original radio,
There is also recommended, but not absolutelly necessary (my Beetle didn't have these bits replaced and run OK):
    - Wiper motor 12V,
    - 12V starter motor... If you replace the starter motor you need to check if it can be coupled with the flywheel teething, as the 12V starters have different size teeth than the 6V starters. But anyway, you should be OK with using the 6V starter with 12V battery, as I did (just do not overrun the starter for too long if the engine doesn't start).

    Good Luck.

Cheers, Imnot worried about bulbs and wipers yet, basically the van is stripped down and I just want to make it handier to move around the place while I work on it.

You need a 12v coil and condenser
Just disconnect all cable so bulbs etc don't get blown

There is no bulbs in it, its all stripped down, only need for motor is to shunt the van in and out of the shed when working on it.
