Dunno how this guy passed me unnoticed for so long...

Was just recommended him today by a friend. Only listened to 5 songs on myspace, but wow very impressed. Surprised that I hadn't heard of him before considering he's Irish.

Anyone else hear of him/ know his stuff?

If I had to describe it, I'd say its a bit like a mix between Andrew Bird and Leonard Cohen. Or something along those lines!

Not crazy about him overall and he is the type I'd usually go for. Just nothing about him really excites me that much, saw him live and wasn't madly impressed either. He does have some good lyrics though.

He is an extremely underrated singer songwriter. His songs are consistently well written and well crafted.

+1 AC is the business. His voice has such a great timbre to it.

Long Distance Swimmer is virtually perfection.

Was going to start a new thread but then remembered this one...

Just found out that Adrian Crowley won the Choice Music Award. Very pleased that this underrated Irish artist has got some credit and recognition for his talent. Fairly big article about him in the Irish Times so looks like his profile may about to be raised, which is great for him, as from what I read in the article it seems he barely scrapes a living from his music which is a shame when you see less deserving Irish artists making a massive amount.

For anyone who hasn't heard him yet, I would recommend giving a listen!

Have to admit I haven't actually listened to his new album yet, has anyone heard it? Is it as good as Long-Distance Swimmer?

I would just like to distance myself from my comment made earlier in this thread. I've been converted, Season of the Sparks was a really great album but it took a little while to grow on me. Dead happy it did and delighted he won the Choice last week. Wholly deserving.
