fiat 850 advice

looking for advice taught you be the best to ask
i was offered a fiat 850 and was wondering what to look out for as what are the bad spots and what are they worth its ment to solid apart for rust under a window and a small bit on the floor and its not running
any help would be great thanks

Hi Ed, I've had 6 of them, including a convertible. They can rust everywhere and anywhere, I'll start at front, under the spare wheel, under the wheel arches around the headlamps and where the suspension bolts on, under the brake fluid reservoir bottle,
They can rot around the windscreen pillars and where the door hinges are, sills and front floors. Door bottoms rust out

Take off rear lamps, held on by philips screws, shine a torch in, it''ll give you a good idea of the inner sills and back wheel arches.

Rear panels can rust from inside out, they're double skinned but they are all bolt on panels.

Chrome on the 1/4 light windows rots on all of them, I'm 10 years looking for a set.
Why is it a non runner, is it seized? or just need a service.
Kingpins in the front suspension need greasing or they'll wear out rapidly
Water pumps can seize but can be rebuilt with new bearings,
Drum brakes all round unless its a Special , Fiat Cinquecento wheel cylinders and shoes will fit

O'Briens the Fiat dealer in Claremorris had a very good green one.

was told its seized what kind of money is the one in Claremorris
just looking for something cheap and came across this was hoping for a mk1 fiesta or 127

too rusty for me but its all there chrome bumpers the lot may be good for parts for someone and under 300 notes
