Samsung 42 in DID Model number PS42B451B for €499 is/was excellent in my view. Picks up the RTE DTT channels perfectly on an indoor aerial, I think the picture quality is very good, seems to be a 2009 model and this price is at least €150 cheaper than anything online, well done DID for offering such a good TV at a competetive price. I purchased one on Saturday and am very happy with it.

I was there at 9.50 and there were six gone at that stage. I asked a couple of questions of the salesman and whilst we were chatting another 3 were sold (no questions from the purchasers) and I got the last one of the 10 in the store although I'm not sure if they had more at that price. I did not see anyone buy the 37inch or 50inch when I was there.

I also got one of those Samsung 42" plasma units, for the price they are a steal IMHO. DID, Harvey Norman and Power City were all doing this TV for €499 on Saturday, musta been a wholesale deal or corporate promo.

Bit of a no brainer at that price really.

They were the Series 4 plasma though, they're pretty old at this stage. Series 8 is out this month.
