stupidly spilt coffee onto my laptop it is a Toshiba satalite A-100.
On the first day yuio jkl; bnm + the arrow keys didn't work.
I rang the computer shop they said new keyboard €120.
Then yesterday all the keys worked except the "Enter key", there is nothing stuck under it.
    This had been working fine.
Should I go ahead with the new keyboard ?
What are the chances of long term damage, can they check this in the shop ?
Thanks for taking the time to read.

There will almost certainly be motherboard damage to the laptop which could be the cause of your problem. Liquids and laptops are a nightmare, they can appear to be okay for a week or more and then suddenly start to act up. Tbh i wouldn't go and replace the keyboard just yet, as you've said that it has "fixed" itself briefly before the enter button went. You could get a usb keyboard for the mean time if it's an issue.

Once you are sure that only a new keyboard will fix the issue and are ready to pay out for one I'd give it one last go and "clean" the area with Isopropyl Alcohol - IPA (no not India Pale Ale).

Remove the keyboard first and holding the keybaord virtically with the enter key at the botom use a dropper to drip in some IPA aroud the enter key, then press the key and repeat a couple of times. Do this over a wad of newspaper and you need good ventilation. The IPA aka switch cleaner will dislove anything that will also disolve in water only better so might get rid of the muck thats causing the problem. You need the good ventilation as the IPA quiclky evaporates, its safe on MOST but not all electical equipment and you can even get it in the Chemist shop. Don't try other solvents as many will disolve parts of the keyboard making it worse.
