SO, downloaded Vidzone this morning, all very cool and stuff. But, now I can't top up my wallet. Is there a connection? Anyone else having this problem?

    I'm using a pre-pay mastercard from payzone.
Yes there is money on it.
Yes I have used it ALOT of times before.
Yes I have went into my PSN account and re-entered all my Billing details. Twice.

    Anyone any thoughts?

EDIT - Just checked the transactions for the card online and PSN have taken €1 for something!! I have no idea what! WTF!!!???

the 1 euro PSN took is to verify that youre card is real i think it will take up to 10 days to verify youre card but if you have used psn before it shouldnt have to do that? i havent any experience dealing with psn but this is what i have heard

With the prepaid cards this happens wont work for days then next thing it'll just start working. the Š1 is a pre authorization on the card exact same thing happens on itunes its to ensure your card has funds and existas. You'll get this back in a couple of days.

Still not working, which is annoying. 'Cos now the missus wants to buy something and is really not understanding how I can't make it work. I think I'll have to make sony aware of the undue stress they have caused me.....:pac:

Reply from PSN was to check that the card had a future expiry date and had funds, I knew the answer but checked both and both fine, emailed them back copying and pasting the 2 entried on the mypayzone account that they took from the card

Have you used it on PSN before btw? I've been using mine for a couple of months now and then all of a sudden it's not working!!

No mine is only new, but I got a reply from IE.PSN that payzonemoney are refusing the card, well the bank are, and payzonemoney are saying they are not. They say that they do not take the €1 but once bank confirms it, they cancel it, but payzonemoney are not showing a cancel signal. it is too confusing, so last email was sent to both PSN and payzonemoney

The reply from PSN about this is:
    wrote:
Regarding the €1.00 charges each time a customer adds or updates their credit/debit card details on their PlayStation®Network account we send a transaction for €1.00 to their card issuer to validate the card details. If the card issuer refuses the transaction the card is not added to the customer's PlayStation®Network account. If the card issuer authorises the transaction the card is added to customer's account and we then send a cancellation request to their card issuer within 24 hours to cancel the transaction. Money is never actually taken from the customer's credit/debit card account and the amount is just reserved from their available balance until it’s cancelled. It is then up to the card issuer to process this request and cancel the transaction. Please note that not all card issuers accept cancellation requests. In these cases the transaction should expire within 30 days and then disappear from the customer’s credit/debit card account.

NO did not see it till now, but why are PSN not admitting this instead saying it is the bank's fault. We will see what Payzone have to say

sony tries to take the payment like a direct debit which pre cards and some other cards don't allow, they only allow single transactions. And this is why some of us can't transfer funds. Sony is working on the problem and they let us nknow when it's fixed. Hope this helps for anyone who's having this problem
Due to extremely high demand for the Call Of Duty World at War, Killzone 2 and Burnout Paradise map packs, released today on PlayStation Store, some people are encountering problems when adding billing details to their Store account or funds to their PlayStation Wallet.

We are working to resolve this situation as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you have been affected by this issue, we recommend that you wait until tomorrow before attempting to purchase content from the Store or until we can confirm that the problem has been resolved.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused and many thanks for your patience whilst we work on a fix. We’ll let you know as soon as we have more news

Possibly a combination of both of the above? Still doesn't make sense why Playstation are ducking the issue and not telling us there is a known problem and they are working on it.

I have used both 3V and Prepaid Mastercards on the PSN.
It never took a euro and always worked perfectly, maybe the fault is to do with the card? Has it been working right since then?

I hope it works out :o

It is strange though that it only affects PSN, not Xbox. Whatever the problem is blaming the bank will not help. I am going to the UK and to save bringing disc wanted to download games, my other card is maxed so cannot use, looks like xbox will be going

Payzonemoney just emailed me looking for details, hopefully will have an answer shortly

Seems to be PSN rather than the cards. Like you I've been using my pre pay MC for a while which is why it's a bit annoying for it to all of a sudden stop working!

    Got this reply
    Dear Payzone Customer,

It is not possible for merchands to validate the card details, because we do not send details of our cardholders to third parties. This is why the transaction declines in their system. The only way is to just debit the requested amount without the security check.

    Kind Regards.

    Client Support Team
    PAYZONEMONEY

Forwarded it to PSN, I think PSN have changed the way they do these checks which may work elsewhere where their data protection allows

    Reply from PSN
    Thank you for your mail.

The network support department have advised me that If PayZone do not support the initial card validation then unfortunately the card can not be used on PlayStation®Store.

    Kindest Regards,

I have pointed out this and others threads to them, also pointed out that the same card has been used, sucessfuly, with Itunes, Xbox, Paypal and so on. They will lose money, which Sony cannot afford
