When you say "slipping off", do you mean that it's constantly not engaging (i.e. jumping when you go to pedal) or that it keeps changing gears?

Slipping on the cassette while pedalling or actually slipping off the cassette into the wheel?

Sounds like your "old" bike is just that, worn chain/cassette.

Did you align your rear derailler? Visit the biketutor for more info.

Probabaly need a bit more info to help. If you've fitted a new chain to hat was the old cassette that generally won't work if there's any kind of mileage on the old cassette. If it's the same chain and cassette combi that worked before it's either not properly adjusted or worn out or the rear cassette body is worn. You can tell whether a chain is worn by attempting to 'lift' the chain away from the front chainrings. If it's loose and lifts clear so that you can see a good bit of the teeth, it's worn out. A chain should always be quite tight to the front chainrings.

Sorry, this isn't the easiest to explain in words!

You need a new chain and cassette. The old one has worn hence the skipping.
