Can ink cartridges be transferred between printers?

I had an Epson printer which broke recently just after I put in four new ink cartridges - typical! I bought a newer version of it - SX405 - which uses the same ink (Multipack of four T0715.) Would I be able to take the ink cartridges out of the old printer and put them in the new one, or would this make the new one self-implode somehow!?
    Thanks!

if they are the same model cartridge I dont see why not. Just don't print over 40 sheets an hour, because that triggers the detonator, then if you dont keep printing 40 sheets an hour, it will in fact explode and that will ruin your carpet.
