    Anyone played Carrick on Shannon and how would they rate it as a course.

    I liked it. It's a club that went from 9 to 18 holes a few years ago, and the two sets of holes are very distinct. The original 9 are straightforward parkland stuff, holes flanked by trees. The new 9 (6 to 14 I think) are much more creative and drop down to the Shannon (let's not discuss how they worked their way around the Special Area of Conservation). More shape, more intrigue, more water and a lot of fun. It was in good condition when I played - but that was 2 years ago.
