In Ireland, who can legally adopt? Can more than two people adopt the same child at the same time?

Applicants must be resident in Ireland, good moral character, must have means to support the child and generally be a suitable person to have parental rights/duties (Adoption Act 1952)

The Adoption Act 1991 says that the applicant/s must be married;or natural mother; or the natural father; or a relative of the child; or a widow/er.

A child can only have two legal parents.
