Denied a grant

Hi guys I contacted the vec and explained to them that I am changing course. I did'nt receive a grant last academic year,and am told if i apply for one this year, i also wont get one until my second year of study in new course. Has anyone had experience of this? Cheers

You don't get a grant if you're staying in the same year unless it's for a medical reason.
