Fear of vaccine needles.

    I've a really bad fear of needles, not everyday ones, just vaccine needles.
    And I don't know why.
    Once when I had to get a filling the dentist kept insisting that I have the anesthetic, but I refused and endured a lot of pain, I still prefared it though.

    Anyone know why I'm so afraid of them, I never had any bad experiences with them (apart from having to get them).

    What is it that scares you about them? is it the look of them, the colour, the head on the person that is giving it to you? So are ya saying ya dont mind blood being taken but anything they are sticking into you thats putting something into you as opposed to taking something out of you scares you?

    I'm the same. we had to get a mumps injection last year in 6thy ear, and I cried :(

    It is both having blood drawn out and having injection's.
    I don't like the idea of having the metal inside me.

    I just put up a thread about my own fear of needles I fully understand where your coming from,
    Havent a clue how to get over the fear its not like other fears like a fear of spiders where you can just try and pick one up or something.:confused:
