Ok, I have finally decided to wax my back. I have more hair than alot of peoples heads. I get take off that jumper etc. in the showers the whole time. So its very hairy.
I have convinced one of the lads to wax me, and this is the advice another lad gave me.

    1) get Nivea wax strips!
follow instructions not worth it not too!

    (2) Have a shower before (don't have one for a day after as you get a rash if you go for one straight after)

    (3) You should use a moisturiser straight after and don't put on a T-Shrit for a few hours.

If you don't go to a beautician all these steps need to be followed.

Can anyone add to this, and or advise which is the best wax/strips etc to use.

    Thanks

I would use an Aleo or Tea tree moistureiser You get wipes with the wax strips!

Your going to let another lad wax your back??

Find a beauticians that provides the service and egt someone relatively experienced.

I cannot stress enough the difference between getting it done profesionally and a diy job.

A lot less pain (oh yes there is pain) if you get it done by a pro too. Bear in mind a mate isn't going top know for sure what way your hair is growing (grain) and could mess you up nicely if he pulls the wrong way.

By the way around 50 -60 notes should do it to get it done profesionally.;)

I agree with Ddad. For the first time getting a very hairy area waxed, GO TO A PROFESSIONAL in a salon. Your mate will leave you with a patchy, red raw back. Maybe once it's been waxed a few times, try the DIY version but first time should be in a salon.

Go to a beauticians, loads and loads of guys do, they won't be givin you funny looks. If your back hair is anyways long and someone just slaps a wax strip over it and yanks you're going to jump across the room with the pain.

Ok, I don't have time to go to a beauticians, and I rang around this evening and couldn't get fitted in tomorrow, my only chance to get it done properly. So I'm gonna do a DIY job.

I am going to shave the hair down to a few mm, and the wax it off. Despite the idiocy of this idea, what are the best wax strips and best moisturiser to use after it?

    Thanks for your replies

    Ok, Heres an update.

We are just under half way through my back. We shaved it with a 1 blade first. then we started waxing. We tried to use the strips a few times but to no avail. They were full the first time. I "had" a very hairy back!

Anyways I am also really big so we have gone through 2 boxs of VEET Debut wax strips and not even half done yet. The lads are gone into tescos to buy a few more box's.

The pain isn't as bad as I thought but it takes so long. I think I will look at permanent hair removal when it grows back!

oh you poor fella! really feelin for ya right now! rather than shave the hair i would probably trim it with a scissors just to make sure you leave enough hair for the wax strips to grab hold of. avoid showers or puttin anything on skin for 48 hrs after waxing. i would def recommend a professional do it, it wont take half as long or be half as painful i can assure you! good luck with the rest of it, u must have good friends willing to do something like that to ya (although maybe theyre enjoyin every minute of it ;))

Oh you're a brave man! I'd be very careful about putting any sort of cream on afterwards, you might end up irritated as skin is very sensitive after waxing. Usually after bikini wax in salon the therapist uses talc/baby powder so maybe go for that instead.

aloe vera or tea tree lotion if you have some lad after they finish and try not to exert yourself (sweating) as pores are open, can fill cause spot!when waxing put hand (gloves) down on area helps to stops pain:D:D

If you are in Dublin I'd recommend that you get it done in brazilia. It doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as its made out to, but maybe take a couple of paracetamols about half an hour before the treatment if this is the first time you're gettin it done

Thanks for all the comments folks. It wasn't too bad only that there was such a large area to do that it was sustained pulling about an hour and a half. The lads really did enjoy, they felt it was pay back for all the times I bursted them in training! Next time I will prob go to a pro. So much hassle and effort doing it at home.

On a brighter note, Its so smooth and lovely, and I will definitley be doing it again.
Any lads thinking of doing it ..... go for it, and do it before a match, you will be so aggressive after all the pain you will play like a man possessed!!
