How fast internet do I need?

    First off, apologies for where I'm putting this.
    I checked out all the Web forums, none seemed appropriate.

    Basically, I'm in India. Trying to get a wireless broadband card for my laptop. Some are between 40-80kb (I don't know is that per minute - they just gave that as the speed). Another, much more expensive is 3.1Mbps. Should I get the fast one?
    Mostly I want to use Skype, anyone know what speed I would need for Skype?
