    Hi there, i need to have counter terrorist clearance to apply for a job in Northern Ireland and my question is can this be done by the Gardai in the ROI?

    It would have to be, since they are the only police force in the state. You cannot apply directly to the Gardaí for your own clearance, it has to be done on your behalf by your prospective employer.

    according to this, you might need to have lived in the UK for three or so years just so *their* security services can check if they've a dossier on you...
